What is stored in your browser, and by whom
This page sets no cookies
gamecove.games, the page you are on, sets no cookies at all. The only thing it writes to your browser is a single local-storage entry remembering whether you chose the light or the dark theme. It is first-party, it is never sent to a server, and clearing your browser storage removes it.
On the games themselves
Each game stores your streak, your statistics and which puzzles you have finished in local storage on its own subdomain, for the same reason: so the game remembers where you were. That data never leaves your browser, and every game offers export and import controls on its own cookies page so you can move it between browsers deliberately.
Because each game is on its own subdomain, its storage is separate from the others. A streak in Shipdle is not visible to Volcanodle.
What each stored item is for
The theme entry remembers whether you asked for the light or the dark version of the site, so the page does not flash the wrong one while it loads. On a game, the stored record holds your current streak, your longest streak, how many puzzles you have played and won, the distribution of how many guesses you needed, and which puzzle numbers you have already finished so that reopening one does not offer you a second go.
None of it identifies you. There is no visitor identifier, no session token and no account key, because there are no accounts and no server-side state to key anything against.
Removing it
Clearing site data for gamecove.games in your browser removes the theme entry. Doing the same for a game’s own subdomain removes that game’s streak and statistics, and it cannot be undone from our side, because we never had a copy. Export first if you want to keep it.
Browsers also clear local storage on their own in some configurations, for instance in private windows or under aggressive privacy settings. That is expected behaviour rather than a fault in the game, and it is the usual explanation for a streak that vanishes.
Advertising cookies
None are set today. If advertising is switched on in future, visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland will be asked for a choice before any advertising cookie is set, and this page will list what each cookie does. Until then there is nothing here to manage and no consent to give.
